Let's hike Rollins Savanna

Unique to Rollins Savanna is its large size, uninterrupted by roads and development, and its existing diverse natural resource features. Rich black soils found at this preserve once dominated Midwestern landscape in the 1800s. The preserve protects the south fork of Mill Creek, frontage on Third Lake, and large interior wetland complexes that provide needed food sources and rest stops for ruddy ducks, blue-winged teal, great blue herons, egrets and a variety of waterfowl species. Grassland birds, waterfowl and other wildlife are drawn to the site’s oak savannas and expansive prairies and wetlands.

Trails
A 5.6-mile gravel trail with bridges and boardwalks winds through wetlands, groves of large oaks and open prairies teeming with wildflowers and native grasses.

The trail is open for hiking, bicycling and cross-country skiing. Trails here connect to our regional Millennium Trail, and to the Grayslake Bike Path and Prairie Crossing Trail.

Dogs must be leashed and on trails at all times.

my desire to participate in said activity Release Lake Villa Day Hiking Meetup 2.0 Group, its organizers, co organizers, event organizers, event hosts, and all its Affiliates from all and any physical injury or damages I may suffer as a direct result of my participation in the aforementioned activity including travel before, after, and during the said event and any and all injuries and damages even if caused by negligence of The Lake Villa Day Hiking Meetup 2.0 Group, its agents, organizers and any other leaders in anyway connected to this event.

I am Voluntarily Participating in the aforementioned activity and I am participating in the activity entirely at my own risk.

I agree my guests will be made aware of this Waiver and Release of Liability.
