Blackpool and The Illuminations

This is a little different from our usual walks, starting in the afternoon in order to take in The Illuminations.

Meeting outside Starr Gate tram stop ready for a 2pm departure, we’ll walk to Red Bank Road (5.5 miles), with an expected arrival time of 4-4.15pm. We will then walk back to Starr Gate, soon stopping for some food (possibly fish and chips!). By the time we’ve finished eating the Illuminations will have been switched on: we’ll then walk back to Starr Gate under ‘the lights’,

People can either do the full 11-mile return walk, just the outward walk from Starr Gate to Red Bank road (5.5 miles, catching either the tram or bus back), or just the return walk from Red Bank Road to Starr Gate (5.5 miles, with a break for food); if you choose the last option, please ensure that you are at Red Bank Road by 4pm ready to meet us.

Please note that we restrict the number of places available to Meetup as, unlike other groups, we have a substantial number of Ramblers Members who also attend our walks and who are not required to book as attending the walk via this app.
