Meditation & Riverside Walk
Join us for a peaceful walk along the enchanting streams of Taipei, surrounded by nature and picturesque scenery.
Relax and unwind as you walk, and enhance your experience with a short meditation session that will deepen your connection to yourself, bringing new meaning to your walk.
Our journey begins at GongGuan, meeting outside KMC Taiwan, and we go towards the riverside, to the Haka Park, and to finish at Taipower, offering a tranquil experience. After, we will find a place to eat if you wish to join.
This unique destination in our meditation walk series should provide a delightful and refreshing experience.
At the beginning and after, you can also have an perfect opportunity to reflect and connect with those who joined you.
Meditation is for everyone and to help people from any background to improve your life.
Everyone is welcome to join this free event.
MEETING PLACE: Outside of KMC Taiwan (4 mins from Gongguan exit 1).
In the case of rain, we will instead change to a more relaxation setting inside KMC Taiwan.

If you arrive early, at 3:30pm, you can ring the bell (bottom right) and have some tea.
For walking, always bring shoes that have a grip. Take an umbrella in case it rains - and if it rains heavily, we will end the activity. If you have any problems or feel uncomfortable while walking, always let one of us know. Take some water too if you get thirsty.

4-6pm
If it is raining, you can choose to stay at KMC Taiwan, to relax and have meditation there.
If you arrive late, we will be walking behind Treasure Hill.
If you do not know it, then you can come to the GongGuan Waterfront Plaza area, where we will pass it just before 5.
We will be walking to where all the seating space is for a short toilet break.
Anyone can join. It doesn't matter about your background. The aim is for people to be happy and enjoy. If you have questions, just email or write to us in the groups.
Safety points to consider before walking:
1. Physical health conditions: If you have any health conditions, such as heart problems/blood pressure etc – please consult with a trained doctor first before joining.
2. Tripping or Falling: Uneven terrain or distractions can lead to accidents. Please ensure that your footwear has reasonable grip and especially if the floor is wet.
3a Dehydration: Walking without proper hydration can cause health issues. Please keep hydrated. 3b. Heat Exhaustion: Walking in hot weather without adequate breaks or water can lead to heat-related illnesses.
4a: Allergic Reactions: Exposure to certain plants or pollen can trigger allergies. 4b Insect Bites: Being outdoors increases the risk of bites from mosquitoes etc. With adequate repellents or long sleeves and covers, this should help. However, no one talks about this.
5. Overexertion: If you feel the walk is too fast (we try to keep the pace to a slow level), but in case it’s too fast, feel free to drop out at anytime.
- Mental Distress: For some, being in a new or unfamiliar environment can cause anxiety or stress. If you have mental health concerns, please consult a trained doctor or psychologist first.
Please note that this meditation walk is offered free of charge. While we aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, we kindly ask that you acknowledge and accept personal responsibility for your well-being and any risks that may arise. The organizer cannot be held liable for any unforeseen incidents or issues.
The walk is hosted by Lotus (aka Stephen). Trained in meditation and hosted meditation walks for a long period of time.

Here is some information about meditation:
“Meditation is a mind that is single-pointedly focused on a virtuous object, and whose function is to make the mind peaceful and calm.”
~ Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
The walk - it will consist of people talking at first... and then there will be a period of silence followed by talking again. There will also be formal meditation that is suitable for all levels along the way.
