What we’re about
This group is for people in the Greater Lansing area to get together and have some fun. We will try out local restaurants, live music, outdoor activities, happy hour, festivals, socializing, and as we grow (and get more organizers) the list will keep growing.
This group is for men and women, married or single, and was originally targeted for 30 or 40 something's, but all ages are welcome. There will be some family friendly events, and will be posted when appropriate to bring kids.
Most importantly, this group is to make new friends. Please make sure to include a photo of yourself so we know who to look for when you show up.
This group may have many singles, but it is not a singles group. Please be respectful and help make everyone feel comfortable. The idea is to meet people in real life. You can send messages to hosts or organizers about events. Direct messaging someone you have never met, or messaging someone about dating before you have met is not allowed. We want everyone to feel comfortable about joining without the pressure of dating. We don't need another dating app. Please show up to an event so you can meet everyone.
Please don't pay membership dues if you've never joined. Dues are only to help pay for the site. Meetup charges a fee to have a group. We want you to show up, make new friends, and have some fun.
No Show Policy: If you realize you cannot attend an event, please change your RSVP to "Not Going". We don’t need an explanation; we just need to know that we don’t need to save a spot or wait for you. People cancel all the time for work, family, not feeling well, double booked, social anxiety, or you simply just do not feel like it. These are all ok reasons to cancel, just change your RSVP so the event host knows not to look for you. If you are a complete no show, do not send a message to the event host, and we have no idea why you didn’t show up you will get a message from me. If you completely ghosted us, you will be removed from the group. If you have a reason for no-showing, you will get 1 mulligan. I hate to have to kick people out, so please just keep your RSVPs updated.
