Ovid's Metamorphoses - Io & Syrinx

Please note: this is an IN-PERSON meeting in New York City (Manhattan). Please do not RSVP if you cannot physically attend.

Since we didn't get to it last time, we will be reading chapter 3 of Peter Jones' edition of Ovid's Metamorphoses: "Io & Syrinx." This is a student edition with a lot of notes on vocabulary, scansion, culture, and grammar, so hopefully it should be accessible to people at different Latin levels.

The idea is to read the stories before the meeting, then go over them again when we're all together to discuss any parts that seemed particularly interesting or difficult.

We will meet on Sep. 28 at the Think Coffee on Mercer at 11:00 am. If there are too many people for the coffee shop and the weather is nice, we can meet in Washington Square Park nearby. The idea in the future is to meet about once a month after this.
