- Make new friends at Stay and Play CafeStay And Play Game Cafe , Chicago , IL
Let's make new friends at Stay and Play Game cafe where we will have the option to play from a selection of over 700 board games. You can also enjoy delicious Puerto Rican food and drinks. Note that the venue updated their game pass to $5 per person to play with a $10 minimum food purchase. $15 to play for 2 hours otherwise.
One of the things I'd like to do with this meetup group is support Latino/minority owned businesses. I learned about this spot from a friend a few months ago and then they were featured in WGN's Around Town segment with Ana Belaval. The owners/couple's story is amazing and on top of it, they also have a social impact initiative supporting local non-profits. I have been here a few times and absolutely loved it and sure you will too.
I will let restaurant know to expect 25 so we can have a few tables with different games depending on venue's availability.
Please be mindful of your rsvp and update accordingly. If you are running late, please let me know. Once I arrive, will only ask for a table for those who are there on time or advise me of their arrival time. No shows are tracked and removed from group if it becomes a trend.
The venue has a small parking lot in the back. Short walk from Irving Park blue line.
Please use comments or message organizer directly to communicate about this event.
Note that there is a $5 annual fee due at your 2nd event. Cash is preferred.
- Volunteering at Erie House Holidays with Heart Gift wrapping eventErie Neighborhood House, Chicago, IL
Join us to bring joy to many children and families from Erie Neighborhood House's many programs who will be given gifts donated by awesome people like yourself across the Chicagoland area.
Every year, Erie House, a non-profit that has been serving Chicagoland's immigrant and low-income communities for over 150 years, gathers hundreds of gifts for the families they serve year round and they hold an awesome gift wrapping party. No special skills needed, just a great attitude and your hands to get the job done to wrap all gifts donated.
We will have a table for us so you can get to know other folks and make new friends who also enjoy volunteering and giving back. Volunteers are encouraged but not required to bring wrapping paper, new or used.
Erie House usually provides food and beverages for volunteers.
Street parking is available but make sure you look at parking signs. Closest train line is Chicago blue line.
