If you are interested in being a part of a dynamic group of mature Women of Color who are convince that living and enjoying life is by choice this is the group for you. A great part of the discovery of women over 50 is many of us are now empty nesters or are looking to expand our horizons by forming new friendships, traveling, dining out, exercising, reading and simply enjoying our lives with others. In joining this group, you are agreeing to have fun without any judgement. We are here forming an association and building a sisterhood throughout 50years+ African American Women's Meetup Group. There is no time like the present to join us and start having fun!
There are requirements in my consideration in accepting newcomers into this group. They are as follows:
1- Being intentional is key. If you live a distance from Mercer County and you know you will not drive to meetups in the Mercer County area, please do not consider joining. I as the organizer will have some meetups in other counties however most meetups are usually in the Mercer County area. In order for our group of women to sustain its sisterhood your presence is very much requested at least once a month. I do understand if there are other obligations that would prevent you from attending a meetup. Please I ask just to keep me in the loop.
2- Please be willing to turn on your meetup notifications and read your private messages I may send you. This is so very important here in this group. I will need your email address, your cell phone number and your birthday. I like to acknowledge each member's birthday.
3- Dues of $20.00 must be paid when joining this group. Newcomers will be given 30 days to see if this is the group for you before paying your dues. At that juncture after 30 days if dues are not paid you will automatically be removed from this group. Your dues cover the cost to operate this group monthly as well as gifts that are given out throughout some meetups.
4- If your intent is to join an event and something comes up where you can't attend the event please change your RSVP immediately. This will afford another member who may be on the waitlist to attend the event. Most of our events are limited seating so please be mindful when choosing to attend an event. If you choose not to change your RSVP and you don't show you will be considered a "no-show" for that event. The first occurrence is forgiven however the second time you will be banned from the group.
