I need to know by Sunday, Nov 24th so I can make the reservations.

What: Hike up the Inn, Stay Friday (Jan 3) and Saturday night (Jan 4). Hike the area on Saturday. Hike back out on Sunday (Jan 5).

Who: Experienced hikers, intermediate trail. The trail is intermediate but we have to carry our supplies up. Not a beginner hike, but also not an expert hike.

Cost: $225 per person (double room, 2 nights, includes Dinner and Breakfast)

The Plan: January 3-5

  • Friday, January 3rd at 1pm: Meet at Amocalola Falls, Hike up to the Inn (5 miles). Dinner, stay at the Inn.
  • Saturday, we'll hike the approach trail to the AT. 10 miles or so.
  • Sunday, eat breakfast and hike out (5 miles).

What is the Hike INN?
The Hike Inn is a backcountry eco-lodge in Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest that offers a unique experience of hiking to reach it:

Location
The Hike Inn is located at the top of Amicalola Falls, at the beginning of the Appalachian Trail.

Trail
The trail to the Hike Inn is a 5-mile hike through the foothills of North Georgia. It's considered moderately challenging and takes about 2 hours and 44 minutes to complete. The trail is open year-round.

Inn
The Hike Inn is a sustainably designed facility with four buildings, 20 private guest rooms, hot showers, and home-cooked meals. The inn is cell phone free and encourages guests to unplug and connect with nature.

Bring/Gear:

  • Boots
  • Large backpack
  • Hiking poles
  • Food for your lunch
  • Warm clothes / coat / gloves / hat
  • Water bottle
  • Sleeping bag is recommended, but they have bedding up there.
