The theme for December's meeting is "Still Life."

What makes something still life?
Still life is art that represents inanimate objects like fruit, cut flowers, utensils, and other everyday items. These objects can be natural or manmade. The composition can be simple with just one or two objects featured or more complex, with a variety of different items.

Some members thought toys would make a good still life image. Also with Thanksgiving coming up, there should be some still life possibilities in food or decorations.

Bring your best to the December 5, 2024 meeting and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Theme is "Still Life"

Galveston's Dickens On The Strand is always a colorful and photogenic time. With strolling carolers, costumed reenactors, bagpipe bands, and lots more, you can count on plenty of photo opportunities. Let's meet at Rudy's at 9:00 a.m. to carpool/caravan to Galveston, then come home when we get tired. Activities will run pretty much all day, with the queen's parade in the afternoon.

You don't need a long lens for this. A kit lens, something along the lines of a 28-80 mm equivalent, will be pretty near perfect. So would a 35 mm prime or a 50 mm prime.
