Join us as UX research expert and bestselling author Steve Portigal shares his advice on Why Research Gets Ignored and How to Fix It.
Sometimes when we share research findings, we hear back, “We already knew that.” In this talk, Steve will examine why that happens, and what we can do about it. Sometimes, it’s a cognitive bias, called hindsight bias and also known as the “knew it all along” phenomenon. But there are other causes too such as:
- Research that isn't relevant
- Shallow research
- Poorly communicated research
- The similarity between recognition and familiar knowledge
- The value of validation
Steve will show us how we can adjust our approach to research to try and limit these all-too-common challenges.
After Steve's talk, he will answer questions from the audience.
Join us for an informative and engaging session! If you join in person, there will be dinner and networking before the talk and more networking after the talk.SCHEDULE
