Hi, I am Ada. I am a certificated Chinese teacher and EEL ( ESL ) in WA. I possess a master degree in Chinese linguistics. I was born in China and visit China about a month every year. I love the nature and travelling. I like learning about languages ,cultures ,and it will be helpful when I travel around the world :) which is my dream.
The original name of this group is learning and practicing Chinese in park. We will still do the walking and practicing Chinese in various parks in Bellevue ,Kirkland , Everett ,and more ( You are welcome to recommend your favorites parks)when it is sunny or not rainy at least and we can learn ( and include practice ) Mandarin Chinese online weekly.
Now I add language exchange because I can learn language like Spanish, German, and other languages. In this way ,more friends can join in ,we could benefit from each other by learning more languages and cultures. If you only know English, it is OK ,I can improve English and you are welcome to teach me or other friends any skill you have :)
I am available for quite a few nights in the weekdays and Sundays or possible Saturday in the future. So the current plan is we can have Wednesdays nights as a online learning class and Sunday as a walking and practicing language day in the park.
The walking in the park will be free ,except a special event with costs eg lots of food prepared. The online class is free for the first two classes you join in ,then if you like to continue ,we will charge ,but will be 5 dollars for each person , time can be half an hour to one hours according to how many people attend it.
This meetup welcomes anyone who is interested in in knowing China ,including Chinese language and culture or interested in language exchange. Knowing the language and culture of China or any other countries can help you understand the world better.
