Hi fellow film lovers! Come and join the brand new film club for the lovely locals of Leigh on Sea and surrounding areas.
It's the same as a book club, but for films - watch the movie in your free time then meet up in a pub/cafe to discuss it, socialise and get to know like-minded people.
For the first event, let's watch Double Indemnity - a film noir classic written and directed by storytelling masters Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler. It's on Prime for about £3.50. As this is a brand new group, let's set a meetup date once we have 5 confirmed attendees.
Subsequent films will be announced or can be suggested by anyone and voted on - one idea is to base it around the BFI's top 250 list: www.bfi.org.uk/greatest-films-all-time.
I (Chris, the organiser) moved to Leigh recently and I'd love to find and grow a community of classic cinema fans in our amazing part of Essex. I'd eventually love to put on film screenings around Leigh too, but first things first :)
