Writing Walk -  Wildpark

Details

Are you looking for inspiration for your writing practice? Where better than the Wildpark, a free outdoor space that combines greenery, animals, and the arts?

You will have half an hour to walk in silence and at your own pace through the Wildpark. As you walk, jot down images, phrases, smells, sights, sounds, thoughts, overheard conversation, and anything else that strikes your fancy. Don't worry about what they mean or if they are even interesting! Just walk and write.

After 30 minutes, we will gather inside the Kandler Cafe in the Wildpark. Here we will settle in, and then write for about 30 minutes.

Use the bits and pieces you've gathered. Tie them together however you want. Experiment.

Or incorporate some of them into the next scene in your novel or memoir. Whatever you want to write, tie in at least one of the things you jotted down.

When in doubt, simply place them one after the other and turn them into a poem, even if you don't know what it is about. How does contextualizing one thought against another change or layer its meaning?

After our writing session, if you want, you can share some of what you've written. You can also share your thoughts about the Writing Walk experience, the writing process in general, or anything else that comes to mind. If you just want to listen, that is perfectly okay too!

## Meeting Point

We will meet at the entrance to the Wildpark at 12:55 (please try to arrive a few minutes early, so we can start the walk right at 1).

## Things to Bring:

  • a notebook and pencil or pen OR your phone or tablet or other device - anything you like to write with;
  • warm clothing (please check the weather forecast for updates - in case of rain or bad weather, we may postpone);
  • your lovely self!
