Summit Avenue Solstice Walk

Details

“Winter solstice is the still point of the turning world… And yet, from this stillness, from this darkness, comes the promise of new light, new life, new growth.” — J.M. Redmann

Let’s honor the winter solstice (Dec 21), the darkest day of the year, and celebrate the beginning of the coming of the light.
Beautiful Summit Avenue has the longest preserved stretch of Victorian-era homes in the nation. Summit Avenue is impressive any time of the year, but with winter lights at dusk, it is even more special.

Gundula will be leading the walk. She will be wearing a blue knitted hat with white horses on it.
Our group will meet on Summit Avenue on the sidewalk at the corner of Arundel Street
Parking is available on neighborhood streets.
At the end of the walk we can visit Summit Overlook Park, which is right across the street from our meeting place. It has a great view of the High Bridge and the West Side of St. Paul.
Gundula will bring some treats to share.
Make sure to wear shoes / boots with good traction.
