Free online chess lessons for adult beginners and novices
Details
We meet each Monday on Zoom from 5:45-6:45pm Pacific Time. I first talk to each new member to learn his/her skill level. I then give one or two private Zoom lessons to cover the basics I have already taught the other members of the group, and then you will start attending our weekly Zoom meetings in which we practice opening principles and middle-game tactics while introducing some end-game principles as well. I encourage people to send me games they have played on chess.com or lichess.org. Sometimes I show these to the group, and sometimes I just provide feedback on the member's game. I also show games I have played, chosen to illustrate some of the points we have covered in the lessons. I occasionally show famous games like Adolf Anderssen's "Immortal Game" and "Evergreen Game" so we can all admire his incredible skill level, even though none of us are likely to ever attain this level. I also use sample positions, puzzles, and other techniques to reinforce the lessons we cover. THIS IS STRICTLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BEGINNERS, NOVICES, AND MEDIOCRE AMATEURS.
Every week on Monday
