#LesGoHiking: Heritage Park Trail (First Hike of the Year!)

We're kicking 2025 off with a nice and easy trail. Heritage Park is a 105-acre nature preserve located in Smyrna, Ga. The trail is a soft-surface trail that follows the Nickajack Creek along to the ruins of Concord Woolen Mill and Ruff's Mill. This trail will end at the Ruff's Mill and the Concord Covered Bridge and has elevated boardwalks over its wetland areas along the way. It provides multiple areas to rest along the creek, with benches and a covered pavilion to have a picnic. I think that this is the perfect Kickoff and I hope that you join us!

**What you will need for this hike:**

* Comfortable, supportive hiking shoes/boots or sneakers. (This trail is pretty diverse. I recommend boots (if you have them)).
* Coat/jacket.
* Umbrella/Poncho…in case it starts raining.
* Layers to keep yourself comfortable.
* A daypack to carry what you need for the hike.
* Water, of course.
* You!

The purpose of #LesGoHiking is to encourage women (Lesbian/Bi) in and around Georgia to connect with likeminded women, who have good vibes, energy, deep conversations, all while hiking, exploring, embracing nature and chasing waterfalls!
