A favourite route for a few of the members.
This is a nice and steady 12ish miles with around 1600ft ascent that takes in parts of the Rochdale Way and Pennine Way close to Littleborough, it is predominately on paths, bridleways and some road (no Rufty tufty stuff).

We start off from the parking areas close to the transmitter on Windy Hill / food wagon and head across the bridge over the M62, following the Pennie Way along Blackstone Edge for a while then we pick up the Rochdale way and drop down towards Littleborough before bearing left and contouring under Clegg Moor before dropping into Rakewood passing close to Castle Hill (not the one at Huddersfield btw), here we pass underneath the M62 before the slight lift up to and over Town Hill. We then drop down towards Piethorne Reservoir followed by a short climb passing Cold Greaves and onto the bridleway, we follow this and pass by Readycon Dean Reservoir and Deanshaw Moor before looping back and passing the trig at White Hill and back to the car park.
Please ensure you have adequate hiking clothing and footwear and strictly no jeans or trainers. Bring enough food and drink to cover your needs.
