Tmn AldoThis will be a mindful walk of the last 100km (the minimum required to earn your Compostela certificate) of the Portuguese Way from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela in eight walking days at a leisurely pace and take your time to explore the beautiful villages along the route, the local culture and the Galician cuisine.
This final stretch of the Camino Portugues Coastal is 100 km from Vigo to Santiago. This Portuguese Coastal Route or Portuguese Way starts in the dynamic seaside town of Vigo, in the heart of the Rías Baixas
Each morning we will meet, i will guide you to do some gentle yoga stretches, a mindful meditaiton and have a small mindful task for the day, which we will discuss during our evening get-together
I am repeating the walk due to popular demand but this time starting from a costal resort "Vigo", home to a fishing port plus ancient Roman ruins, neoclassical churches, and an authentic Galician old town. You may wish to stay a for a day or so before the walk begains
The Camino is always beautiful walk whichever route you take and great for a beginner
This is a breakdown of the days
Day 1: Arrive in Vigo
Day 2: vigo to redondala | 15km
Day 3: redondala to arcade | 8km
Day 4: arcade to pontevadra | 12km
Day 5: pontevandra to a portela 14 k
Day 6: Portela to caldras de reis | 8km
Day 7: caldras de reis to padron | 18km
Day 8: padron to teo | 12km
Day 9: teo to santiago | 13km
Day 10: Departure
(Please note this the rough working itinery atm and may change a little regarding overnight stops and distances due to availablity of accomodation in the village as we are often travelling through tiny hamlets with limited accomodation)
### Difficulty and terrain
This itinerary is relatively speaking a relaxed walk which includes walks of 10-12km per day on average The terrain is flat or hilly without steep ascents or descents. You will follow a mixture of dirt roads, woodland paths, minor roads and some busier roads close to the bigger towns and cities. The routes are well-marked with yellow painted arrows and a yellow shell on a blue background, and the itinerary is very easy to follow.
Please note this will be a small walking group of no more that 6 people and myself, so it will sell out
Each nigh there will be shared accomodation in a twin room as close to the end point of the day as possible.
We will have one or two meetings before going so pople can ask questions
The cost is £750 including single and luggage transfer between accomodation Accommodations on this walking retreat include a mix of welcoming countryside guesthouses, whole house/apartment airbnb type accomodation or comfortable 1-3-star hotels, located close to the route of the Camino.
### Compostela/Pilgrim’s Passport
You need to get your passport stamped in churches, restaurants or hotels along the way. At the end of the walk in Santiago de Compostela, you can obtain your Compostela Certificate.
