What we’re about
- Hiking, walking, kayaking, and other adventures. From beginner to more advanced, for fun or fitness, for the beauty of nature!
- Event organizers typically provide their hiking pace. A general rule of thumb, for trails in our area:
• Easy is 2 to 2.5 miles per hour.
• Moderate is 2.5 to 3.0 miles per hour.
• Brisk is 3.0 to 3.5 miles per hour.
• Fast is 3.5+ miles per hour. - Our focus is not "singles," it is "hiking," so there may be single people and married people hiking together.
- Our adventures are mainly in the St. Louis area, but sometimes further away.
- Actively participating hikers (members) may set up activities if they choose. Please contact the organizer if interested.
- To join this group please use an actual photo of yourself for your profile.
WELCOME to Let's Hike! We're glad you have joined our group. Remember that the people who run our events are volunteers. Please be courteous and respectful to your event hosts.
Let's Hike tips for members:
- Please read the event page before RSVP. The event hosts include hike descriptions, meeting location and information that helps events run smoothly.
- Periodically check your RSVP'd events, keep RSVPs current and update to not attending as soon as possible if you cannot make an event, even if you are on the wait list.
- Check events before leaving your house for changes or cancellations.
- Do not alter another person's event. Posting comments on event pages to see if anyone wants to do "something else" or "suggest" that the organizers do what you want creates chaos and is disrespectful to the event host. If you want to host your own event, contact the group organizer.
- We welcome active members to set up events, so if you are an active member interested in posting and hosting events, contact an organizer.
- If you have any other questions feel free to contact the group organizers.
- Dogs: It is the dog owner's responsibility to abide/obey laws. It is not the responsibility of any hike leader to enforce laws. If dogs being allowed is not posted in the hike description, ask by posting the question on the event page.
We all enjoy the outdoors, members and volunteer organizers, and safety and accountability is always each individual's responsibility. Let's Hike as a group nor individual organizers can be held liable for injuries sustained during events.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our events enjoyable for our event hosts and members alike.
