Cuban Salsa Leuven is the place to be to learn Cuban salsa, rueda de casino and lady style in Leuven. In the last years, the school has become and welcoming "familia" for enthusiastic dancers.
Salsa is not only the steps: it is a specific way of movement, it is the culture and the history of Cuba, and – most importantly! – it is learning to enjoy and lose yourself in the dance. We believe that everyone can experience the pleasure of dancing Cuban salsa and we promise to help!

Step into the soul of Cuban music and dance with our Son Cubano Series! Starting Thursday 26th of September at 19h, this 10-class series is your chance to learn the iconic dance that gave birth to salsa!What is Son Cubano?
Son is a traditional Cuban partner dance, originating in the eastern provinces of Cuba in the late 19th century. By the 1930s, it had become Cuba’s national rhythm and dance, blending West African, Hispanic, and local creole influences. Renowned for its elegance and sophistication, Son is danced contra-tiempo, with a slower, more refined style than contemporary salsa.In this series, you'll be guided through the fundamentals of Son Cubano, learning the signature contra-tiempo timing, clave patterns, and core Cuban musical concepts. You’ll master the essential footwork and movements, including desplazamientos, caídas, planchas, and tornillos, while exploring the rich history behind this beautiful dance.
Note: On the same day, there will also be an Afro-Cuban Initiation Series from 20h to 21h30. Combine both classes to dive deeper into Cuban dance culture!

We have exciting news for you!!
On Thursday October 10th we're starting a new salsa series for absolute beginners in Leuven, Heverlee! If you have never danced before, this might be your chance! In this classes we teach you the basics, from absolute zero, and we try to explain everything as good as we can and including the necessary amount of humor and enthusiasm!The series consists of 10 weekly classes. Your first class is a free try-out and we hope you will like it so much that you want to stay ;-).
You don't need a dance partner, we will make sure you have one!Important: also for the try-out class, you need to enrol in order to attend the classes! This is needed so we know the amount of leaders and followers in the class.
Price of the classes:
- 1 series (10 classes): € 90
- Early bird: € 85
We also have beginners series on other days:
- Monday 21h, start September 23rd
- Friday 20h, start October 4th
- Wednesday 19h, start October 16th
