Lions Gate Chorus is open to all women or non-binary folks in the Greater Vancouver Area who love to sing and perform. You must be willing to join a group that thrives on a generative growth mindset, is motivated by competition and performance, that is dedicated to excellence in our craft, that is hungry to learn and grow as singers, that is passionate about each other, and that truly cares about creating a place of belonging.
Our weekly rehearsals include something for everyone! Get up and dance. Participate in vocal exercises using sound and proven techniques for a healthy voice. Learn new music. Socialize. Visual tips. We are led by a world champion singer, educator and director, Sandy Marron. We practice and learn pedagogically sound vocal techniques including SOVT and Speech Level Singing. Our coaches and choreographer are among the most sought-after and accomplished in the world. This incomparable leadership and education has led us to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best women’s a cappella choruses in international competition, most recently winning gold medals, making us 2024 International Champions.
We sing in 4-part harmony and every voice is placed in the part that naturally suits their range best. We welcome low-voiced all the way to high-voiced women and have a place for you.
