I am Anjo, Location Independent Entrepreneur, community creator and founder of this group. I created this group in 2018. "Lisbon Cascais Expats & Friends group (LCEF)" group, is an International community intention to integrate well with Local norms and culture. We have organised more than 500 events where 10K people participated. We organised and facilitated talk shows, hiking, social events ( coffee/drink), picnic, BBQ, board game, business meetup, Big parties ( New Years eve, Halloween, Summer part act.), dining, retreat etc.
Since Lisbon has become "the happening" city of western Europe, the Lisbon Cascais Expats & Friends (LCEF) community is growing faster than anyone has expected. The community is bustling. Let's be part of it and make it shine with your gifts.
This group is intended to welcome new expats in town to mingle with old expats and locals. Chat up with experienced expats and locals to get to know more about city life style and how to be an expat in Portugal.
Anyone can join this group. We will try to explore the coolest cafés, restaurants, bars and out-doors in Lisbon.
So if you are living in or close to Lisbon or just arrived in the city to check out for your future home and you would like to go to an event where people/friends socialize, this may be a good group for you. Don't be shy if you are a new arrival in Lisbon. Just come by and chill-out with the coolest people in Lisbon.

Our hiking groupHIKING Mata de belas: Quinta da Fonteireira- Águas Livres Aqueduct
This hiking takes place along the Mata de Belas, allowing us to get to know this important green spot so close to Lisbon, where in addition to lush vegetation we can appreciate the Aqueduct and Quinta da Fonteireira. Like other attractions, we will climb to the geodesic landmark of Penedos Pardos, cross the Jamor stream and return to Belas. Another event not to be missed!
Belas
Belas was a town and county seat until 1855. Until liberalism it was composed only of the parish of the seat, later being incorporated into the parish of Barcarena. It had, in 1849, 4,041 inhabitants and 49 km². It regained the category of town on July 24, 1997. In 2013, as part of the administrative reform, it was annexed to the parish of Queluz, creating the Union of Parishes of Queluz and Belas.Quinta da Fonteireira
The farm is located in the parish of Queluz-Belas and is inserted in an extensive area of forest, overlooking the typical landscape of Serra da Carregueira with its characteristic fauna and flora. It is an enormous farm and has as its high point the ascent to the watchtower and geodesic vertex of Belas. In 1525, Quinta da Fonteireira was owned by Álvaro Pires Serrador. This is the oldest known reference to this farm. Until it was acquired by Gregório Raimundo Vieira in 1710, there were several owners. It is very likely that the latter was responsible for building the first residential structure and chapel in the area overlooking Ribeira do Castanheira.
🏡🏡 Meeting point: at 10H10 at the Rossio train station infront of the Starbucks ( inside).
We will take 10h31 train to Queluz/Belas.
We will take Queluz/Belas bus 1212 or share Uber from there to get to Belas.

Our hiking group👉👉 Tomar Convento de Cristo + Hiking around Tomar
On popular demand I am repeating this event since we had great time last time that ended up having a lovely dinner in a traditional Tomar Resturant in old town. Keep in mind that we will have dinner post hiking.
IMPORTANT: Covering shoulders and knees are mandatory to enter the church apart from good walking shoes and hiking gears for the hike. Please bring along your rain jacket.
IMPORTANT: There will be a professional guide who will give us a two hours tour of the Tomar Convento de Cristo. The cost of an individual will depend on how many we show up. But I think the estimated cost would be from 8 to 12 euros per person. If we are not enough, then our local guide ( friend of mine) will be happy to show us around.
👉👉Tomar city : Former seat of the Order of the Knights Templar, Tomar is a city of great charm for its artistic and cultural wealth, whose greatest expression is in the Convent of Christ, one of the chief works of the Portuguese Renaissance.
Whatever your reason for visiting the city, climbing up to the Templar castle and discovering the monumental work of the Convent of Christ is a must. The Charola (Rotunda) is the oldest part. This Templar chapel was built in the 12th century, like the castle, which was at the time the Kingdom’s most up-to-date and advanced military set-up, inspired by the fortifications of the Holy Land. It was converted into a Chancel during the restoration works ordered by King Manuel I in the 16th century, when the complex gained the architectural splendour, kept intact to this day, which earned it World Heritage Site status.

👉👉 Tomar Convento de Cristo: Tomar's stand out crowd-pleaser is the magnificent Convent of Christ, inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. Founded in the 12th century by the Grand Master of the Templars, this extraordinary church with its graceful cloisters and impressive castle is one of the most dazzling and extensive of Portugal's religious sites.
The powerful and enigmatic monk-knights were rewarded for their ferocity on the battlefield with a castle, built in 1160 within sturdy walls on a wooded hilltop near the River Nabão.
