Erik Jekabson's stringtet, an all-star chamber-jazz group made up of some of the best musicians in the Bay Area, joins together for this concert to play the timeless music of the incomparable Duke Ellington, featuring brand-new arrangements by Erik. You know this will be a strong show!
The band consists of:

Dave Ellis, saxophones
Alisa Rose, violin
Charith Premawardhana, viola
Dillon Vado, vibes
Adam Shulman, piano
John Wiitala, bass
Brian Fishler, drums
special guest: Jackie Ryan, vocals
EVENT COST: Ticket prices are in the mid-20s (reduced rate for seniors). I also ask for a one dollar donation from Meetup members to offset the hefty fee that Meetup charges me as lead organizer. (That fee has now doubled to about $360.00 per year!)

WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Meet near the Will Call desk by 7:00 p.m. or in the seating area shortly after that, so we can get seats together. (The show goes from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
HOW TO FIND ME: I'm 5 feet tall, in my 60s, with short, salt & pepper hair and glasses (see my photo with my Meetup profile). I'll send my cellphone number to RSVPers beforehand.
PARKING/TRANSIT: Parking is available on side streets. The venue is located between the North Berkeley and downtown Berkeley BART stations. Allow extra time to find parking or for the walk from BART.
