LKN Boomer Belles

LKN (Lake Norman) Boomer Belles is a group of 60ish+ women who like to go out to eat, play cards or games, walk, share their love of books, theater, and movies, or participate in a variety of other activities. Most of our events take place in the Lake Norman area and during the weekdays, but we occasionally meet in Charlotte or Concord and frequently do week-end events. Most of our active members are retired and are between mid-60s to mid-70s. If you're not nearing 60, you may enjoy a different group more.

If you’re interested in joining our private group, ARE 60ish PLUS, and agree to follow our policies below, simply click the “Request to Join” button and be sure to upload a recent photo when you apply. After a 60-day trial period, you'll be asked to pay an annual membership fee of $10. Failure to pay will result in your removal from the group.

Group 'Rules'

1. RSVP Courteously. Restaurants plan staffing, etc. based on the group size they’re expecting. We want to be good customers and also uphold the reputation of our group. Out of respect to the venues we visit as well as to members of the group who may be on the Waitlist for an event, the following Late Cancellation and No-Show policies are in place:

- Late Cancellation Policy: All late cancellations (after the "Cancel By" day and time stated in the reminder email from the Organizer) are recorded. Although things occasionally happen to make a last-minute cancellation necessary, repeated occurrences of late cancellations without good cause will not be tolerated.

-No-Show Policy: After the first No-Show, you will receive a reminder of the policy. A SECOND NO-SHOW WILL RESULT IN YOUR BEING REMOVED FROM THE GROUP. Definition of No-Show: A person who has registered (RSVP’d) for an event but neither attends nor cancels.

2. Compliance with our group COVID/Illness standards (as stated in each event reminder) is mandatory!

3. Our events are drama-safe zones. We ask that out of respect for the diverse opinions and feelings of ALL members there be no back-biting or controversial conversation, including and especially conversation about politics and religion.

4. Some people are adversely affected by even small amounts of fragrances such as cologne, and may get headaches, upper respiratory symptoms, shortness of breath, or dizziness. Please omit or severely restrict your use of cologne.

5. Photo ID Policy: For the safety of all group members, a recent photo of yourself (not clip art, a pet, a cartoon image, etc.) is required. We want our members to be able to recognize each other when gathering at events. Also, please use your real name (only a first name is fine if you prefer).

6. Events are for our group members only and for women only. Local ladies/friends have the opportunity to join the group if they want to attend our events. That said, if you have an out-of-town female guest you’d like to bring to an event, simply message the host to see if there’s a space available.

7. Members are required to keep the Meetup message function turned on. This allows the host to communicate with you without making the message visible to the entire group.

8. This group’s focus is on socializing and meeting new friends. Please respect others’ privacy and don’t use the group for selling, spam, mass invites, or promotion of products, services, or your own businesses.
