My family celebrates the holidays on Christmas Eve, so I usually find myself binge-watching something on Netflix on the 25th. However you celebrate, if you find yourself longing for a walk in the woods on the 25th, feel free to join me

We'll go a moderate pace.

This walk with start at the End of The Line Grocery Store at the corner of Lynn Valley Road and Dempsey Road. Easy to get to by transit

We'll meet at 1:00pm and leave no later than 1:15 (allowing for any stragglers to arrive). There is at least one water fountain on our route, but recommend bringing your own water bottle, plus a snack is always a good idea.

Should take no more than 90 minutes, allowing for photo stops, etc along the way. We'll cross the river via the pipeline bridge and then walk along the Connector Trail until we get to the gate that leads to the Rice Lake Loop. Will return along the Varley Trail

Good trail shoe is recommended. Hiking poles are optional. Note the Varley Trail is a bit technical. I'll be bringing my hiking pole. Always a good idea to have traction devices (yaktrax, etc) in your pack at this time of year
