What we’re about
Welcome to London Art Photography. Do you want to take your photography down a more artistic path? What is it that sets artists apart from other photographers?
This group is open to anyone who has a decent camera and wants to expand their way of thinking. Proper technique is covered too at all levels depending on the event.
Learning to think like an artist is a very valuable exploration of one self, one's environment while tapping into the stories and events that have shaped our surroundings, while narrowing it all down to its essence. It means learning to express a thought, feeling or opinion about the things we photograph, putting our own personal stamp on our work.
We will look at:
- The power of shape and composition - how to find great shots where there doesn't seem to be anything at all to shoot.
- How to simplify an idea or a shot to make it stronger.
- Developing series and themes in your work to give you a strong visual identity.
- Exploring creative lighting techniques.
We will go on walks and also head into the studio and darkroom in Shoreditch. This is about having fun while being open to learning new ways of thinking.
