History Cafe #7 - British Union of Fascists

Hi all!

Following our last session on the Unification of Italy, we'll proceed to inspect the local fascist scene in 20s and 30s Britain.

Some questions:

• Why did the movement fail (eventually) in Britain?
• Initially, the BUF was quite popular before becoming too overtly violent. Can we imagine a milder or more subtle version of it taking off?
• Connections to our times (not pointing fingers at anyone).
