November Long Run - Thames Meander (22k & 12k options) - with diversion

This month we will be heading to Battersea Power Station for a 22km run along Thames path to Richmond. We will meet at Black sheep coffee next to Battersea power station in front of the river heading west along the river. We had to make a diversion due to the collapse of the Path in the Kew Gardens area, following the heavy rain on the 20th October, so we cross the river at Kew Gardens bridge and follow the path on the north side to cross back south of the river in Richmond lock. We finish at White Cross pub nearby Richmond bridge in front of the river for a well earned pub lunch. The route is pretty flat and will be along a mixture of paved lanes and gravel and is possible it will be muddy during this season. We will all try to run together, adjusting the pace to suit the group around 6:00/km.

We shall meet at the Black sheep coffee from 09:45 to be ready to set off at 10:00am. This is just a short 9min walk from Battersea Power station on the Northern Line.

For those wanting to do a shorter distance, we will have a pick up at 11:00 at roughly half of the route by the Hammersmith bridge (south side, along our route). From there, we have circa 12k to go till the end.

Please make sure you are comfortable with this kind of distance. We would recommend you try our shorter runs on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings, especially if you are relatively new to running. There will be no bag drop, so please bring everything you need in a small backpack including water and snacks.
