OPTONAL - another 3 miles.

Easy, moderately paced hike around Belmont Lake. This is short and sweet.
Near the end of the loop, you can walk south to Southards Pond adding another roughly 2 miles.
On this walk, learn about some native and invasive plants including poison ivy, bittersweet, thorned berries (blackberries and raspberries), birds we see on the lake (this is one of the places to see some of the less common birds), and the old mansion now used as park headquarters.

The park entrance is off the north side of Southern State Parkway at exit 38.
