What we’re about
The Longmont Public Library is about books and a whole lot more! We have a handful of meetups that encourage community, learning, and enjoying shared interests. Check them out here or on our webpage or see information specific to our book groups. New members are always encouraged and welcomed at our meetups!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all meetups are presently being held online. See the individual calendar events for more details and watch for more in-person meetups when the pandemic has passed.
* Virtual ¡Hablemos! Let's Talk!: an informal Spanish/English conversation group in which intermediate or better Spanish and English language learners can practice their language skills. This meetup meets every Tuesday from 12 to 1 pm via Webex. Registration is required to receive the information necessary to join the meetup on Webex.
* Say Hello Informal Online English Conversation Group: Practice conversation with others interested in improving their English in an informal, conversational setting. We recommend attendees have an intermediate level of English to effectively participate, but everyone is welcome. Conversations are conducted entirely in English and are guided by a native English speaker. This meetup meets every Saturday from 10 to 11 am via Webex. Registration is required to receive the information necessary to join the meetup on Webex.
* Virtual Genealogy Basics: Volunteers from the Longmont Genealogical Society offer their time, knowledge, and assistance to the public one Saturday each month. Participants are guided on how to search for their ancestors and use the various resources available both in and out of the library. Bring any information you have -- name(s), a date of birth or death, a place, etc. and see what you can discover! This meetup meets every Fourth Saturday of the month via Zoom from 10 am to 12 pm. Registration is required to receive the information necessary to join the meetup on Zoom.
Our meetups are always free. Join us!
