What we’re about
We are a fun-loving social group that likes to meet new people, get together with friends and have FUN. All people are welcome: singles, couples, all age ranges. The majority of people are from the Longmont area, single, ages 40-65.
Our fun-loving group allows and encourages all members to post events and we encourage any type of group event including but not limited to: adventure, socializing, happy hours, presentations, support groups, group projects/activities, potlucks, holiday events, class/workshop, day trips, and overnights.
Whatever you feel like doing, you can post it for others to sign up and join you, and you'll always have people to go to events with.
Don't worry about coming to events alone -- practically everyone does. We'll make sure that you have an opportunity to meet tons of great people (our members are awesome) and make friends.
How often will you meet?
We strive to meet at least once a week. The event calendar will be dependent on how many members post events.
Why did you start the Meetup Group?
We started the Meetup Group because we want to be a part of a supportive and fun social community in Longmont. Research shows that your longevity is largely dependent on how satisfied you are with your social support.
Our goal is increased happiness, fun, meaningful friendship and a sense of community and support.
Photos
We ask that each member have a profile photo that is a close-up of your face only (no one else in the photo) so that our event organizers will recognize you and for safety purposes.
Meetup Fees
Our annual fees cost $180/yr. so we gladly accept annual donations from members to help us break even and to contribute to our party fund which helps defray the costs of the parties. It is preferable to donate cash instead of the Chip In button because Meetup.com takes 7%. We ask for a $3-$5 donations per member per year. If you want to use PayPal, you can PayPal to drpearsall(at))gmail(dot)com
*Attendance Courtesy:
If you want to attend an event, please RSVP "Yes" on the event page. If you have to cancel, please update your RSVP on the upper right corner of event page by clicking the green "Change" button to "No" as soon as possible.
Out of consideration of our hosts and venues, please try to refrain from canceling out of an event with less than 24 hours notice -- if you are canceling less than 2 hours notice, please call/text/message an event host in addition to changing your RSVP.
A "No-Show" means not showing up to an event while your RSVP says "Yes." (Canceling with less than 2 hours notice can also be considered a "No-Show" especially if there's a waiting list or reservations at the venue). After 2 no-shows, we ask for a $5 donation to remain in the group.
Keep It Friendly
If you have a concern or issue with an event please message the Event Host privately instead of using the Event page to voice your complaints. We want to keep the attitude positive and friendly. If you have issues after contacting the Event Host, please message one of the Organizers. People who post critical, unfriendly comments on Event pages will be removed from the group.
Thank you for becoming a part of our friendly Longmont Social Meetup Family and we all looking forward to meeting you soon!
Hugs, Kendra, Organizer
Just check our CALENDAR for upcoming events and feel free to post events to our calendar by becoming an Event Host (message Kendra to become an Event Host).
