Dog Tales at the Wildomar Library, come join us in helping a child find the love of reading.

We meet in the community room. Right inside the front doors on the righthand side.

We have all seen the picture of a child cuddled up with a dog reading a book. That is how it is with our Dog Tales reading group.

Our therapy animals are there to help every child enjoy reading. Their smile and confidence grows while they enjoy the spark, the magic, that comes with reading to a dog, their best friend.

Your dog must be kid friendly, love to cuddle, or be laid on by a child, and remain on their blanket. Each dog must be okay to let a child examine all parts of their body.

The readers are in the age group of 3 to 10 years old. Any child 1 to 92 is welcomed to read.

Each team needs to bring a blanket for their therapy animal to lay on. Some assorted books for all ages. Children may bring their own books or select one from the library.

You will need to arrive 10 minutes ahead of schedule to do a meet and greet not only with the other teams but with the children who are waiting to read. Please be prepared to extend your visit 15 minutes so the last child/children have an opportunity to read to your dog.

Please have your LOAL ID's and pets current rabies vaccine record with you in case staff or management need to see them.

If this is your first visit to the facility or if you have renewed or updated your animals vaccines you will need to bring a hardcopy with you to give the management.

Teams in training may attend with approval of the host.

If you feel this is something you and your therapy pet may be interested in please feel free to come by without your pet to see if it would be a good fit.

Please contact the chapter leader to let them know what day and when you are coming by for a visit. They can give you the information then if you wish to make your dog part of the Dog Tales team.
