Book Club: "Intellectual Story-Time" (please read description)
Details
This book club is probably different than most you've encountered. We do not all read one book and then discuss it. It is more like a "free speech forum", except you speak the words of an author rather than your own, for about 15-20 minutes. (We discuss the books with one another at all the other opportunities that we see each other... because we're cool like that.)
We've been doing this for years with friends and family, and it works great... if you enjoy hearing texts you would probably never read yourself and learning things that surprise you. It's "intellectual story-time"!
Group Structure
Now that we are [again] publishing our club more broadly, we are trying to maintain the intimacy of a small group while also making the experience sharable and scalable. Thus, expecting that we might grow by at least a few more readers, we will have the structure of different cohorts of readers, separated into respective breakout rooms. Eventually, if there is sufficient interest, there might be other events at different times and on different days.
