Mince Pie Walk - Sence Valley Forest Park, Leicestershire

Details

Postcode: LE67 6NW, Gridref: SK403112

An 8 mile route starting and finishing at Sence Valley Forest Park, this is a beautiful walk just outside Ibstock off the A447. The walk will start from the top car-park, this is a restored site where open - cast mining was once used to supply the power industry, there are now three new lakes. Mince pies will be generously supplied by the walk leaders which is why we have limited this walk to 20 places. You will still need to bring your own packed lunch and drinks - there are toilets in the carpark but no facilities or pub stops along the route.

Please park in the Sence Valley Top Car Park (now believed to be £1.95 for the day). Payment must be made by phone or via an app - full details on display at the carpark.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. You MUST RSVP on Meetup if you wish to attend this walk.
If you turn up without having RSVP'd you may be turned away.
  2. If you can no longer attend due to a change in plans then please update your RSVP status as soon as you know so other people on the waiting list can join us.
  3. Please wear appropriate clothing (not jeans) and footwear for an all day walk, including waterproofs and warm layer.
  4. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water for a day's hiking as there will be no pub stops on this walk.

Walk leaders will take a register at the start of the walk and may ask for your contact details which will be kept for no longer than 21 days before being securely destroyed/deleted.
