What we’re about

Hi there,

Welcome to the Bacaudae fraternity page.

Over the past few generations, western society has lost one of its most uplifting and beneficial institutions, an institution for which the time is now ripe to bring back - the fraternity.

In looking for a template on which to base this group, i recalled from the book "The fall of Rome" a curious group called the Bacaudae.

Long ago there was a civilisation, for its time, very much like our own today - Rome.

And much like our own system today late roman society was stifled with excessive rules, taxation and regulation amongst so many other apparent causes of the dysfunction and imbalance typical of late civilisation. Out of this coercive environment; to seek freedom and to better the lot of its members, the Bacaudae emerged. Evidence for the historical group is incomplete but amongst the evidence we do have is:

1) While the majority of it's membership would have been labourers from the countryside, it contained members from all classes. At one point being led by a Doctor and an Aristocrat.

2) While some parts of Bacaudae became involved in campaigns of independence from the Roman state and others degenerated into "outright brigandage"; overall, the Bacaudae is generally accepted,in modern terminology, as a "self-help" group.

3) Members would have held national loyalties rather than to the Roman state.

4) The name is of Celtic origin

5) Groups spanned from the modern day Balkans to Modern day north of Spain.

6)Formed in response to the grinding regulation and taxation of the time.

Beyond the above listed points not much else is known about the group. The ancient Bacaudae are as much a mystery as anything else. The most brief and concise account can be found on the oxford classical dictionary website.

Times have changed since the time of Rome and the type of strife we face today may be somewhat different. So the question remains, If such a group existed today with the same desire to seek the betterment, Freedom, success and self-reliance of its members with the benefit of modern access to information and knowledge, and with the precedent of the last few hundred years of limited government and constitutional law as a guide, what would it look like?

The 4 Pillars of Bacaudae fraternity:

1) Freedom:

free to act and exchange as you will though your actions not deny others the same right.

2) Merit:

The embrace and encouragement of individual achievement

3) Camaraderie and Brotherhood:

To strive to live our best lives and help others do the same

4) Natural Law/pro-reality:

Accept and embrace the hardwired aspects of ourselves and of reality, to work with our personal growth, development and free will. (Basically, high personal responsibility and no victim mentality).

In light of what has happened over the last couple of months it has become clear that those who truly value freedom are only a minority of the population. Therefor the time is right now for those who do value freedom highly, to band together in whatever way is best.

So if you have an interest in;

a) Freedom, self-improvement, accountability, mentorship, general personal development, generally just building a good, self-dependent life

b) learning an ever greater and coherent understanding of our world, history and of ourselves.

Feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can make happen. Or if you have anything additional that you believe is uplifting and beneficial and would like to contribute to the group; you of course can. That's what it's all about.

As a trained practitioner of nlp my own contribution to the group can be to teach how to properly use nlp, accountability techniques and hypnosis cd's/audios to reprogramme the sub-conscious and form the beneficial habits and changes that you want.

You can direct message me with your interest Or you can contact me through my private email [email protected]. If you have any questions feel free to message those queries to me also. All questions will be responded to with respect and You're not under any obligation if you message me with a query, after all, there's never any harm in asking.

Best regards,

Mick.
