Join us for an evening of extraordinary flavors and innovative dishes celebrating Farro, an ancient grain that can improve human and soil health. Chef Cody Candelario, renowned Food Network star and champion of "Cutthroat Kitchen" and "Chopped," and finalist on “Hell’s Kitchen,” is bringing together some of Colorado’s top chefs in this thrilling showdown, battling for the ultimate prize in grits greatness!
At the heart of the competition is Gruff Ancient Grain Grits, made from Farro grown on Prairie Grass Ranch, a 106-year-old family farm nestled in Montana’s renowned Golden Triangle. Gruff, winner of the 2023 NEXTY Award for Best Certified Regenerative Organic Product, takes Farro—typically enjoyed as a berry or flour—and transforms it into nutrient-packed grits that you won’t want to miss.
A Created By Cody concept, presented by Mad Agriculture and featuring Gruff Grains, this exciting event shines a spotlight on the importance of artisan grains like Farro in regenerative farming systems. Beyond its delicious flavor and ancient heritage, Farro is a healthier, more sustainable alternative to refined grains like white rice. Its cultivation helps regenerate the land by improving soil health, conserving water, and boosting biodiversity.
The bar will be hosted by Dry Lands Distillers, a small batch craft distillery that utilizes native regeneratively grown crops in their spirit forumulas. The evening's signature cocktail will feature Regenerative Organic Certified rye, and Deshutes award winning Kernza beer will also be served.
And to top it all off, we are so pleased to welcome Colorado's blues duo Hundred Pound Housecat!. Their sound is a foot-stomping mix of original Blues and soulful Americana with just the right amount of rock n'roll!
