Talk title: AI Engineering: building and running effective AI-powered applications
Abstract: As increasingly powerful AI models are becoming more accessible and the surrounding ecosystem of enabling vendor services and open source libraries is exploding, it’s becoming easier and easier to rapidly spike out a compelling proof of concept. Going from POC to a sustainable operationalised product however is a different story—with most initiatives failing to make this transition.
AI engineering is more similar to good old software engineering than many people realize, and the differences from software engineering are more profound than people realize. In this talk, we’ll go through the similarities and differences, unpacking these and giving you a framework for effective AI engineering that will increase your chances of successfully delivering and maintaining value producing AI-powered applications.
