What we’re about
This is a group to get people living in Macon and Warner Robins to get out and do fun things together.
I’d like to post a variety of activities that could include but not be limited to: dinners, brunches, local live music, downtown outings, dog play dates, beginner hikes, day trips to Atlanta/Savannah/etc, game nights, and my favorite... free activities that we can scout out happening around us.
I am fairly new to the area, and have experienced a lot of relocation throughout life, so I know the drill of having to start over somewhere alone without family or a local support network
I have been using Meetup for years to meet new people - previously I participated in groups and helped organize events, but now I’d like to try leading my own Meetup groups. I notice there is a lot less usage of Meetup in middle Georgia than in big cities, so please feel free to spread the word about Meetup in general and invite your friends!
I will not be able to host regular events until probably August but by then I would like to have some kind of activity happening weekly.
Things to note:
- You do not need to worry about randomly being removed from the group. You will only be removed from the group for negative behavior, and do not need to worry about being removed because I randomly decide to or because you’re not active enough.
- You do not need to worry about paying any dues. I pay for the Meetup membership; if you want to donate some time you can let me know, but it is not required for your membership or participation.
- My goal is to be inclusive but not exert any pressure. Come at your own pace. I understand the fear of putting yourself out there!
- Finally... Harassment and cruel behavior toward anybody will NOT be tolerated. This includes: coercion, screaming/yelling, bullying, racism, sexism, rudeness, repeated unwanted advances, etc.
- Just don’t be a douche, mainly
