COBS Bread Bagging Crew (SATURDAY)

Details

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A SATURDAY!
This volunteer activity requires volunteers to meet at the Social + Good | Charity Kitchen to help us bag donated COBS bread for our weekly client delivery and pickups!
We will be across the street from the main Made by Momma Resource Centre in the Social + Good | Charity Kitchen. (in the meal packing / hamper area)
Each week we get the end-of-day bread/buns/sweets donated from the Glenmore Landing COBS Bakery. We have 2 volunteers pick up the bread each Tuesday & Saturday evening at 8pm and bring it to the Resource Centre.
If you are able to take on the bread pick up job weekly or even once per month, please send us a message!

This is a fairly simple volunteer job but is needed every week. This volunteer job takes approximately one hour. The bread arrives unpackaged and we must bag it so that it can go out with client care package deliveries for the week.

Responsibilities:
• Liaise with team lead
• Sanitize work surfaces before and after shift
• Wear gloves when handling bread items
• Medium / Long hair must be tied back
• Clean out the bread bins
• Ensure the kitchen area is left well organized and tidy
• After this volunteer shift, clean up includes sanitizing all counters, sweeping the floors, taking out the garbage and recycling etc.
• Other related tasks as needed

If you have not volunteered for the Bread Bagging Crew before, please let us know and we will give you a short introduction to how it works when you arrive!
We look forward to seeing you!
Volunteers MUST be able to be here by 8:15pm (unless you are the one picking the bread up) and everyone MUST stay until the clean up is complete.
If you RSVP YES but are unable to make it, please update your RSVP to NOT GOING as soon as possible to allow other volunteers on the wait-list to join.

***Please do not park in our loading zone! There is plenty of free street parking in the neighbourhood.

  • You must sign-in, read, agree and initial the Notice of Risk form at the Social + Good Charity | Kitchen prior to starting your volunteer shift AND sign-out at the end of your volunteer shift!
  • AT THIS TIME WE ARE NOT ALLOWING UNREGISTERED GUESTS. (Normally - Guests of registered volunteers may attend ONE volunteer activity - then must register as a volunteer to attend further sessions)
  • Volunteers participating should be registered with a Volunteer ID #
  • If you do not yet have a Volunteer ID #, please contact Cameo at [email protected]

PLEASE NOTE:
We have set the volunteer numbers for each event to a maximum that we are comfortable with. Please DO NOT COME if you are wait-listed.
If you, or someone who shares your home, or someone you have been in contact with, has been feeling sick, especially with a fever, had signs of lower respiratory illness, such as a cough, runny nose, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or if you have recently returned from out of country travel; please DO NOT volunteer with us, do not bring us donations, or come to the Resource Centre for any reason for a minimum of two weeks.
All volunteers must practice hand-washing hygiene & surface sanitizing throughout their shift.
