What we’re about
Madison isn't all young adults, some of us are over 50, but young at heart! If you live on or near the isthmus, are over 50, and are seeking new friendships, join us. We'll meet primarily between 10am - 5pm, with some events in early evenings. Are you retired? still working from home? caregiving for a spouse and need an outing? new to the area? looking for friends to meet up with to enjoy the farmers markets, trips to the library, music on the terrace, lectures, walks to galleries? recovering from an injury and need to get back into your groove? Join this group of locals in downtown Madison WI.
P.S. If we meet in a coffee shop or restaurant consider buying a drink or appetizer.

See all- Holiday Songs at Delta Beer Lab - by Opera on Tap - Bring +1Delta Beer Lab, Madison , WI
Let's listen to Wisconsin musicians, dressed in their holiday garb, performing at Delta Beer Lab. We'll celebrate the holiday season with carols, holiday movie favorites, and classical repertoire, in a modern craft brewery. Feel free to join in during the sing-along for some festive good cheer to start off your December. Plus meet some new women friends over 50!
Because this is an evening event, we do invite our members to bring a spouse, friend or partner, if they would like. Admission is FREE but we encourage you to buy a beer, cider, or non-alcoholic craft soda. While our daytime events are women only, we understand that many women prefer to bring a companion to a nighttime event.

Delta Beer Lab Home page - Breakfast Downtown - Monona Terrace Zane Photo Exhibit AfterwardsBest Western Premier Park Hotel, Madison, WI
Let's share a full breakfast at the Premiere Park Hotel downtown at the Post Restaurant on Capital Square. Afterwards, those willing can walk together for 3 blocks to the Monona Terrace to visit the free exhibition of Wisconsin photographer Zane Williams. His works feature the growth of Madison in the last few decades, and he compares his urban photos with the works of urban photographer Angus McVicar from the 1920s to the ’50s (by shooting at the same locations). See how much Madison has changed, while meeting new women friends at this event!
The FREE photo exhibit is on Level 4 – Promenade East of Monona Terrace. All attendees pay for their own breakfast. Some attendees might be interested in knowing where the bike elevator is, at the Monona Terrace, if you live in the area. It's a convenient way to get down to the waterfront, and your host can point it out to you.

Madison - An American Capital City - Description - Beyond the Left-Right Divide: Partisan Polarization in American Politics LectureOrchard Ridge United Church of Christ, Madison, WI
Please pre-register and join women friends at the bipartisan UW "Badger Talk" on the political divide in American politics, by UW professor Michael Wagner, Distinguished Chair, School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In his words, this lecture "describes how what we think of as the contemporary political divide in the United States is far more complicated than it appears in the typical “red state-blue state” coverage we see in the news media. While we tend to think of Americans being “liberal,” “moderate,” or “conservative,” American public opinion is primarily organized around two types of issues: economic and cultural. Things get complicated because some people have liberal views on both types of issues, some have conservative views on both types of issues and others have views that are liberal on some issues and conservative on others. The talk explains the far-reaching consequences of this insight from party identification, voting behavior, political participation, media use, the 2024 elections and the future of American political conflict." To pre-register please email Steve Sheets at [email protected] and say that you are coming, as well as RSVP-ing here on Meetup. Full event listing here.
