What we’re about

The East Side Mindfulness & Meditation group is hosted by Carol and Joel. Carol is a certified yoga instructor and former instructor of the Calm Classroom program (one of the largest providers of school-wide mindfulness training). Joel is a former board member of the Chicago Insight Meditation Community and a registered nurse. We practice Vipassana meditation (also known as insight meditation).

On most evenings, we sit in silence together for 30-minutes, listen to a short prerecorded talk on the topic of mindfulness and have a share circle. We are enthusiastic about offering a space for people to practice mindfulness meditation and to connect with others in the community. We also offer a separate "intro to meditation" session where we provide instruction on meditation posture and technique. Message us if you'd like to arrange an intro session.

There is not cost to participate. On most weeks, Carol makes cookies!
