What we’re about
The Philadelphia Main Line Ukulele Group is one of the largest and most active ukulele groups in the country. Established in 2011 we have grown to over 800 members strong and have provided our members with, on average 20 opportunities per month to play ukulele in a group setting.
We have weekly jam sessions at multiple locations in the tri-state area and monthly jam sessions at our flagship locations, Steel City Coffee House, Green Fork Restaurant and Main Stage Center for the Arts. We also offer other opportunities each and every week to get together and jam with fellow ukulele players. The Philadelphia Main Line Ukulele Group also holds four "Premier Events" each year. Our Premier Events give members the opportunity to play in a festival like setting with, on average over 50 players all sharing the love that only the ukulele can bring!
Our group caters to beginners so if you're new to the uke please come to one of our events and let us help you start your journey. We play a wide variety of music from old standards from the 20's and 30's, Hawaiian Music, Classic Rock, Folk, Modern Pop, Country, Punk, Reggae and anything and everything else!
Hope to see you soon!

We’re a group of enthusiastic ukulele players learning ensemble pieces together to create our own ukulele orchestra. The ensemble parts can be played by folks with a range of ukulele playing ability. Join us!
For now we are meeting every other week - watch this space to know when, as well as for details on the specific pieces we are working on at any given time! The materials we're using (plus a whole bunch of "bonus" materials) are generally available for viewing and downloading on our Google Drive page.
At this point we are starting to work on a 3-ukulele arrangement of the famous traditional Hawai'ian song Aloha 'Oe. The sheet music (with traditional notation and uke tabs) can be accessed for downloading and printing at Aloha ‘Oe Ukulele Ensemble - Current Project. You'll see separate files for each part of Aloha ’Oe and a file for the full score. Print the files for all three parts or just the part you would like to try. (If you have the Musescore software and want to let it play back the score so you can see what it sounds like the .mscz file is located in the Extras folder.)
Here is a YouTube link to one of the many renditions of Aloha 'Oe that are out there: https://youtu.be/ONFMei_PpNQ. Please note that Aldrine plays slightly different versions of several chords; however, we just can play them as we know them.
We may also still continue to work on Pachelbel's Canon in the key of C. So feel free to continue practicing that piece as well. For inspiration, here’s a somewhat... uhm… unusual rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon: https://youtu.be/khOfSVULtsU.
At each event, please try to arrive about 5 minutes before the starting time to set up and tune up so we can get started right away. At any rate, we will be happy for you to join us whenever you are able get there.
Please be sure to RSVP if you're planning to attend. This helps us with our planning.
Feel free to stay afterwards for the regular weekly uke jam at the same location. Further details can be found on the West Chester Ukulele Group's separate event pages that are listed on the Philadelphia Main Line Ukulele Group's main page. Please RSVP there as well if you're coming to the uke jam so we know the number of chairs and songsheets to have ready. We really like to know that YOU are coming!
