This walk starts at fishing harbour at St Helen’s, initially following the path along the sand dunes. The historic Tuskar Rock Lighthouse will accompany you along this part of your trek. A trail leads off the beach along a quiet road towards the historic 18th century Ballytrent House. A tall flagpole can be seen from the beach, a device that was once used to signal to ships before the day of radio communications.
The roadway continues past the ruins of Ballycronigan House, a once splendid country house built around
1819. The road continues back along the beach to the carpark .
Attendees participate at their
own risk, health and safety. Please be aware, this is a fast paced walk and can entail hills. It is your responsibility to keep up with the group. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on the lead at all times. Thank you and look forward to seeing you there 😊
