This walk is being publicised jointly with Our Irwell, a small group that was set up recently to promote and campaign for public access to the River Irwell and to highlight blockages and problems with existing rights of way along or near the riverbank.
This is a short Sunday morning walk using paths that follow the river as closely as possible without too much deviation or repetition. The route visits Peel Park, Kersal Wetlands and Salford University and is mostly on riverside walkways, please note that these may be slippery or unsurfaced in places.
There is no specified train or bus to the meeting point as the walk is planned to start and finish from outside Salford Crescent station. Please check https://tfgm.com/ for convenient train or bus transport from your area to Salford Crescent.
