This walk through the Styal woodlands follows mainly good paths, but some places may be slightly muddy when wet. A degree of fitness is required for this walk.

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Wilmslow station.

Transport to Walk Start: 10:06 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Crewe).

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Day Return to Wilmslow £8.50- it may be cheaper to book two advance singles.

Walk Start: Wilmslow Railway Station at 10:30

Waypoints: Southern Woods, Quarry Bank Mill, Bank House Farm, Airport Hotel, Chapel Woods, Styal Village.

Return Services: From Heald Green: x:11, x:20 & x:35 until 21:20, then 21:36, 22:08, 22:20, 23:10, 23:20, 23:49.

Extra: Toilets at walk start (rail users only). Toilets en route at Quarry Bank Mill. Optional pub visit at the end of the walk at the Flying Horse. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs) as we will be walking through fields of livestock.

Bring a packed lunch and water and appropriate footwear and clothes for the terrain and weather
