We started this group in October 2010. We are a group of about 60 women and on any night we might have 8 to 20 women singing. People do not like to RSVP so it always looks like we have no one coming.
Any woman or child 8 and older is welcome to come sing with us. You don't have to be trained or a fabulous singer. You just need to like to sing. It is amazing what happens when women join together in song. No matter how many of us say they can't carry a tune, magically it sounds terrific.
You can come for an hour, or stay for the whole two hours. You can come once a month or every week.
We sing songs and chants that are positive and uplifting. They come from many traditions. Some are old songs and some are new and some are old songs with new words. The songs are about the earth and healing and spirit and woman.
I call it a "sacred" singing circle, but not in a Christian religious way. Its more that all life has meaning and each of us has a voice. A sacred space is one that allows each of us to find our voice and sing our truth.
We have so much fun each week. Join us in laughter and song and community.
Note that the building is a low scent facility. In order to accommodate the needs of all of our community we ask that you refrain from wearing scented products, perfumes, or colognes. These items can create severe health problems for some people.
