Atheists and Agnostics Chat with 1 Christian (On God, Truth and Belief)
Details
Join us for a lively discussion where Atheists and Agnostics Chat with a Christian on matters of God, truth, belief, and the role of faith in understanding reality. This event will explore key questions such as...well... any question a group of Atheists and Agnostics can throw at a Christian.
Expect challenging questions, insightful discussions, and probing the limits of our paradigms as perspectives collide in a search for answers about the meaning of life, morality, and existence.
Would You Like to Participate as one of the 10 Atheists/Agnostics?
Anyone is welcome to participate. We encourage actual atheists and agnostics to be in the group. But I think we're pretty down with anyone who wants to take on an atheistic or agnostic perspective even if they don't actually believe in it. As long as you are serious about, well, serious inquiry and discussion, then message Genesis, the event host, or leave a comment here letting us know you'd like to join.
Other Notes:
This is the 1st of our series. Our next event will be Christians Chat 1 Atheist/Agnostic.
Format:
The group of Atheists and Agnostics will all take turns asking questions to the Christian. If there are enough participants, then we will try a "spicier" format.
About the Christian:
Genesis Sanchez is an Eastern Orthodox Christian who completed his bachelor's degree focusing on Eastern religion and philosophy (particularly Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism) and his master's in education, with his dissertation project focusing on Early Christian education as represented in the Greek and Russian Eastern Orthodox and the Ethiopian and Coptic Oriental Orthodox communions. It was a journey which took him from Manila, to one of the oldest universities in England, the ascetic poets in Ethiopia, the monastic republic of Mt. Athos in Greece, and back to Manila again.
He has also taught Epistemology (the philosophical study of knowledge) at an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in China and now teaches Literature and Linguistics for the US and British campuses of an international school.
His current musings focus on the mystical theology expressed in the poems and hymns of the early church, her liturgy and her saints.
