What we’re about
Aiming to bring together those who love craft beer, who want to meet more people who also love it, and who want to get out and about to visit more great breweries, pubs and other relevant places - to drink and socialise. Based in Maple Ridge, Lower Mainland, BC, Canada (but may travel!). Check out the BC Ale Trail, Maple Ridge Ale Trail, and local breweries Foamers’ Folly, Maple Meadows, Ridge Brewing Co, and Silver Valley Brewing for wider info on local and regional craft beer happenings.
There is a facebook group page to compliment this Meetup group, helping bring people together online to chat and share beer-related goodness. The Meetup platform remains the first place to hear of new everts, and you can find lots more interesting groups, and people on it, so do join and spread the word! Find our facebook group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/872831917871671/
In short let's drink, meet, and be merry.
Note: Legal Age for drinking in BC is 19, so please don't come to an event unless you are legal.
Rules: 'Waste no more time arguing what a good man* should be. Be one' - Marcus Aurelius. No, really. If you're not kind, online or in person, you will be asked to correct your behaviour, and ultimately could be removed from the group. (*person, obviously. Come on, it's a quote from Ancient Rome).

See all- December Beer Club - let's take the sleigh to Langley!Smugglers Trail Caskworks (Brewery and Kitchen), Langley Twp, BC
**Full details nearer the time - but we'll head to Smugglers Trail as our first stop, and then to the Barley Merchant. Think the Dead Frog may be for another day, but lets see how we go!**
This will be our early holiday drinks, so please do try to join! Ho ho ho, etc.
I'm reliably informed that the 595 bus from Maple Meadows can get us to Langley and these fabulous breweries. Yay!
Smugglers Trail info from their website - Longtime rugby teammates Jamie Overgaard and Stephen Gregorig founded Smugglers Trail in 2017. Jamie and Stephen don’t always agree on things. But one thing the two headstrong friends finally managed to agree on was that Langley deserves something more. Langley needs more beer!
Since its inception, Smugglers Trail has been developing high quality, hand crafted beers. Our products remind us of the familiar British Beers of the past while calling to us from our West Coast Canadian future.
We've opened our own brewery and tasting room in Langley, just a stone’s throw from the original Smugglers Trail. We are always expanding our program of quality beers and cask-conditioned ales to include some seasonals, special collaborations, and more. The tasting room boasts full kitchen which prepares dishes that suit any taste and flavours that pair perfectly with our beers.
Barley Merchant info from their website - The Barley Merchant Taproom & Kitchen was born out of a love and appreciation for locally produced beer and the people that brew it. We believe every craft beer can tell a story, one sip at a time.
We serve beer that is interesting, full of unique and exciting flavours and that pairs well with all kinds of great food.
We focus on offering local, small batch beer, brewed fresh in communities around BC using traditional methods. Beer made with care by independent owners that are often friends and families who have followed their passion on a quest to create something delicious for all of us to ex-BEER-ience.
We follow the same philosophy as we curate our list of ciders, spirits, wine and food menus. We’re here to share their story in an environment where our guests have an opportunity to unwind and.... drink it all in!
