What we’re about
Marana Singles enjoy meeting for dancing, meals or drinks at casual, relaxed restaurants and pubs in the Marana and NW Tucson area. This group does not do upscale dining, resorts or fine dining. We are a casual group with some incorporated indoor and outdoor activities with a relaxed and fun vibe. The focus is on uplifting camaraderie and fun for all kinds of singles. Baby boomers are generally 50-60+, but we welcome pretty much anyone.
Some guidelines for the group below:
Coffee Talk will meet at 9:00 AM
Breakfast Will meet at 10:00 AM
Lunch will meet at 11:30 AM
Drinks and pubs will meet at 6:00 PM
RSVPs: We ask that you update your RSVP no later than the day prior to the event. No shows removed after two chances if there was a waitlist on the event when you did not show.
ATTENDING: Check comments on the day of the event in the case of last-minute changes.
LIABILITY: By attending an event you acknowledge that all liability lies with the individual. Hosts/members are not responsible for anyone else's choices or safety.
ATTITUDE: Please be positive and focus on FUN! Constructive feedback is welcome if done politely.
CONVERSATIONS: Interesting topics may come up as we meet and chat, so when in doubt let's cut each other some slack. Some meetups limit talk that may be controversial, but we don't restrict topics in this group. I feel free speech is important and that no one person has the right to tell someone else what they can or cannot talk about. If someone raises a topic and you feel smoke coming out of your ears, please just take a deep breath, stay calm, and the topic will change in a few minutes. We are all adults and should be able to manage our emotions, I trust you all to do so. If you have a particular concern, please send me a chat.
PHOTOS: Hosts/members have no control over this so be aware that your photo may be posted in this app or elsewhere.
CONTACT information: Your phone number may be shared with other club members if there is an event requiring us to send group texts for directions or arrangements. Don't share this private personal information with others without asking first. *We will not be emailing information re events, text only.
FEES: If there is a fee for any given event you will pay the organizer directly via PayPal, Venmo or Ca$h app. Alternately, you can just add $ to fundraising.
MEMBER MIX: It is ideal to have a mix of people in the club for maximum fun. Please alternate invitations to men and women whenever possible. Inactive members are culled every six months in June and December and are always welcome to rejoin later.
FUNDRAISING: The Meetup annual dues are $218. Member contribution to group expense is optional. See the link on the group home page to contribute.
POLICING of the above: NONE. Please just everyone behave yourselves, be polite to one another and use common sense.
