# AT Raven Rock Rd (RTE 491) to Wolfsville Rd (RTE 17) – 4.1 +/- miles

This is a Dynamic hike with 998.4 feet of elevation gain if you have concerns of your ability reach out to either Kelly or me. Let’s hike along the Appalachian Trail (AT) in Maryland.

**Route/Length/Terrain:**
This is 4.1 dynamic miles We will start at Raven Rock Rd and stop at Wolfsville Rd. We start out with a stream crossing. Then climb for about 2.5 miles. The terrain is rocky in some places.
**Start Time:** 9:00 AM - We will start down the trail shortly after. Text Kelly at 443-350-2429 or Roxanne at 240-315-4034 if you are running late.
**Meet:** at Raven Rock Rd. Parking is along the side of the road
**Leave No Trace:** We follow Leave No Trace guidelines. Be prepared to pack out all your trash (including "natural" trash like apple cores)
**Bathrooms:** I would bring supplies to go to the bathroom in the woods. There is a privy at Ensign Cowall Shelter at 3.9 miles into our hike.
**Pace:** We will take it at a pace comfortable to everyone and the group will stay together during the hike. Breaks will be taken as needed!
**Wear:** Breathable clothing, no cotton! Dress in layers as it’s hard to predict the weather this time of year. Wear sturdy shoes/hiking boots. Hiking poles for stability are always a good idea!

**Bring:**
**REQUIRED:** At least 2 liters of water and snacks. Have supplies to go to the bathroom in the woods. This includes toilet paper, trowel, hand sanitizer, and a ziploc to pack out paper.

**Are dogs allowed?** No animals for this one because we will be shuttling.

**Inclement weather/cancellation plan:** If there is reason to cancel the hike, then I will let you know by Thursday night. However, unexpected storms can roll in so check MeetUp before coming to the hike for any last-minute info.
